Jane White

Approaching a white canvas, all I can imagine are vibrant colors. Using those colors, I recall memories for myself and for the viewer.

Unexpected visions intrigue me, whether they are an old church, peaceful vista, pastoral landscape or enchanted forest.

Questions for me pop up. Have I been there? Who was with me? When did this happen? What was I thinking? Painting for me is an adventure.

The smell of the paint and feel of the brush bristles coupled with the memory to be painted come together as a pleasant colorful experience.

Regardless of the style of my painting, whether realistic or imaginative in theme, all can be recognized by the joy in their colors.

Over the past 30 years, I have studied and laughed with Dennis Johnson. He has encouraged me to experiment with many forms of artistic expression.
