Scott Henderson

As the Director of the smART Space Galleries at Science Museum Oklahoma, Scott Henderson’s goal is to educate the community about the symbiotic relationship between the arts and sciences. His formal art training was acquired at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago and at the University of Central Oklahoma. He has been shown in many group and solo exhibitions around Oklahoma City and abroad. His works are included in important private, public and corporate collections. He mainly works in collage and mixed media with a focus on fantastic themes in correlation with self-identity. With a raw collage style and a painterly approach his art presents new ways of looking at the world in relation to the graphic realm we are invariably surrounded by.

Art Statement

My painting/collages show the dichotomy between the comfortable familiarities of our environment and the veiled nature of reality.  In my artwork I express the ideas of individuation and archetypes and how they influence the psyche and the Self through the use of symbols, diagrams, multi layers, and textural imagery.
