Portrait Fundamentals with Chris Brizzard
Date: February 13th, 2021
Time: 10am to 4pm
In this one-day workshop, we will survey the fundamentals of portrait drawing and painting. In the morning, students will be presented with essential facial proportions, a simplified way to start the process, and considerations for choosing a photo reference. A demonstration from the artist will then follow. In the afternoon, students will work on a portrait of their choosing, either drawn or painted. The instructor will give feedback during this time and seek ways to apply what was learned in the morning session to student work.
