In this one-day workshop, we will survey the fundamentals of portrait drawing and painting. In the morning, students will be presented with essential facial proportions, a simplified way to start the process, and considerations for choosing a photo reference. A demonstration from the artist will then follow. In the afternoon, students will work on a portrait of their choosing, either drawn or painted. The instructor will give feedback during this time and seek ways to apply what was learned in the morning session to student work.

*For more information and to register, please contact Whitney Watkins at 405-343-3883. Workshop limited to 6 participants.

Materials: drawing or painting supplies; reference photos (instructor will also provide images) We will be working from photographs.
